Excellent.

Voice acting again from you was great, and the animation simple yet sweet.

Humour was pretty good, and choice of music lovely.

I wish it was longer though, but as a short it was damn good.

Hey alright, this was pretty good!

I thought the animation was very smooth, and expressions of the crowd brilliant.

The music was alright, I felt that it didn't completely compliment the animation, but was still somewhat fitting. Reading the Author's comments I see that it was softened up, what was it like before?

Though fun to watch, I didn't really feel all that entertained. CONTRADICTORY MUCH?

Look forward to more of your work.

Sherbalex responds:

i just changed the volume.

Woah...

Who needs dialogue huh?

Excellent. You masterfully animated various facial expressions that conveyed each emotion perfectly. Each one was spot on, and coupled with the oh so very fluid animation, really brought each character to life.

The music was just supreme, it fit perfectly with both the overall theme of the flash and the actions that were occuring within.

I liked the plot, I thought it was a cool story. I could sympathise with the guardian in his desire to protect his charge. I got the impression that he cared greatly for the little one and that was shown when he reprimanded him.

The colour palette you used was great, I found it really emphasised the heat and gave an almost barren-esque feel to what might well have been a lively neighbourhood once upon a time.

Really cute ending with the wee kid sipping the water, brilliant ending.

Really look forward to more of your werk.

Right it was okay.

I feel that there is a lot wrong with it though.

Firstly, on the loading screen, with Kai grinning and a light shining over his eyes... You notice the white dot flicker above his right eye when this happens yeah?

Now that might seem like a tiny detail but these little things persist throughout the whole flash. It's like you just need to go round and polish certain bits of animation.

I can understand your desire to submit this after working on it for a year, and well done for the hard work you've put in, but you shouldn't ever settle. Don't be content with a piece of work that you know you could make better if you made that final push, rather than limping over the finish line.

The voice acting was good, in that it was believable (sort of), but the quality of recording let it down.

At one point, Kyle's voice simply stopped and we were left with subtitles to explain the story (about how they have to guard the territory for the 3 bosses, or something). I see you've kindly written that bit of dialogue down in the Author's comments, but why is there no voice acting for that part?

The animation was okay, I can tell that a lot of effort has been put into it, and as you use flash more, you'll discover and develop techniques that will allow you to do so much more with seemingly less effort.

This pieces gives off a "Work in progress" feel, and I can't really give you a fair score because your hardwork has been undone by untidy animation and imcomplete dialogue. The plot is fine, I mean, it's interesting and I look forward to seeing how the story unravels. I just want to enjoy it, and not feel like it's a chore to watch.

I really look forward to more from you, keep up the hard work.

sweetyluli responds:

Well said. And you're right it is still unploshed. I hope not to repeat that in EP 2.

WOAAAAAAAAAAAAAAH.

That was amazing voice acting for Pit. He sounded like a totally Dude!

Sweet animation, really clean. It was indeed a short and I enjoyed it thoroughly.

I'd give you more stars, but the star police have clear laws stating shorts can only get a maximum of 3 and half unless the author blows the reviewer...

So call me up on )&$!"£"!!!$ and we can sort out a meeting place.

Also, don't try to phone those symbols, I really did just hammer them in...

You're going to dial those symbols aren't you?

Wonchop responds:

That's a retarded law.

Haha!

That was brilliant.

I liked the animation, it was fluid and some camera angles and effects were impressive. Though I did feel it was slightly simple overall.

The sound effects came in a little loud at first, then sorted themselves out as the flash progressed.

The plot was totally random, I don't know if I'm missing something but it was still very funny.

I personally really liked that the two seemingly female leads were voiced by male (or butch female) voice actors. I think that added to the humour.

I look forward to more of your work.

Brilliant!

A great sequel to a decent prequel!

Loved the animation, looked like real care went into it.

Sound effects and music were brilliant, just the right volume and did't detract from the flash, only add to it.

Plot was hilarious, honey mead bit was just cute as anything!

Can't wait for more of your stuff.

Yeah, obviously perfect.

This was brilliant. I mean, I'm almost at a loss for words. I didn't expect such a powerful story really.

Erm, I could write about everything, animation, music and all the tiny details but that'd take ages and I doubt I'd have enough space to do so!

I think it was smart. I felt I could understand it somewhat, almost relate to it but I've been lucky in my life and haven't been to the depths the 'protagonist' has.

Admittedly this made me think of various films. Brazil for one.. The Island being another. But even though it might make me remember these films, I think you made this flash your own with your storytelling, quantity of voice acting, smart and almost economic cinematography, minute detail that could so very easily be missed (I especially liked his ever so slight eye movements after waking up to see B13 in his bed, before realising she's not there).

Now, I'm not saying I got it completely. I admit a few things slipped past me but I know I felt that there was a message there, I just couldn't decypher it. The over sexualisation was akin to what's happening to our media nowadays I feel, but very exaggerated. The seemingly peer-pressure adverts not too far off what I see and hear today, only more direct and personal. I mean, I saw that, but I wonder. The sexualisation thing was done to such an extreme extent I wondered if perhaps there was more to it. Maybe it's just a vision of the future? I certainly wouldn't doubt that.

The contrast between cities was great, made me think of Sky Blue, the anime. Also the language used in the slums compared to the seemingly English spoken world of the clean city made me think of America and what might very well be an undeducated view of the Mexican and American relationship. I see that perhaps Mexicans living in Mexico view America as.. Well, the land of opportunities right? I'm sure you can see that all over the world, but to me, it's most prominent there. Again, that may be an uneducated view and I apologise if that or anything offends anyone.

I feel you've done a great job in creating and executing a story that invokes such thoughts and feelings in someone. Namely me.

I should have just echoed Piggler's comment;

"My God..this is a fucking masterpiece".

P.S Once or twice I was sharply reminded of your "Smile" flash in certain facial expressions and plot developments. Brilliant work.

Loved it.

I really enjoyed the voice acting and thought the accent was super sexy.

The plot was funny and well narrated. I've not watched the film nor read the books so I really don't know if any of this is even remotely similar but I still enjoyed it.

I think the animation revolved around the audio and felt it worked well. Because the audio was the focal point, I don't think the quality of the animation mattered all that much, even if in places it was great then later sometimes basic.

I found this funny, but not like totally laugh your arse off stuff, perhaps because you couldn't stray too far from the story, which is perhaps why you used slightly off names and exaggerated animation to help emphasis the humour. I found that worked, but still wanted more funnies.

Great werk.

ZenithQuinn responds:

Appreciate it :) Thanks!

Brilliant.

I think you pulled off the black and white style very well.

Voice acting from you is just the best on NG. Crystal clear to hear and always, always sexy.

The plot was all over the shop, in a good way. I guess that was down to your comic collaboration technique? It bounced around very nicely and it was extremely funny. How he just gets back into the car after the W/C scene was just brilliant. As if nothing happened.

So maybe the car crash thing was obviously going to happen when they detailed the plan, but the manner in which you pulled it off was perfect. Totaly destruction.

The best thing for me was, when, even though he had totally botched the job and asked for a light (again), his partner begrudgingly gave it to him. That little bit of interaction really allows us to see into a friendship (or partnership) and we're allowed to imagine how long they've known each other, or what else they've done ect ect. I think that was really smart and added a certain depth to the otherwise short flash.

Superb ending, how he just walks away. Totally puts the icing on the weird cake.

Another great flash, keep 'em coming!

Sexual-Lobster responds:

thanks!

I reckon Ken is the best street fighter character because he is so versatile. Opponent keeps guarding? Just use his throw. That's just one of his many moves that can help you win titles.
