I wanted to close this flash within the first ten seconds of viewing.

I still wanted to close it half way through.

After watching it all, I wish I had closed it sooner.

Animation was poor, audio quality made my ears bleed. Plot was random, but I guess intriguing at the same time. I guess I wanted to get something out of the flash, and hoped for a good ending. Which I didn't get, so I feel cheated.

I'm not any better for having watched this flash.

You get a star for Alfy's voice acting.

I'm done.

emily-youcis responds:

damn, g, guess I should've made sum quality Goku-f**ks-his mom simulated girl hentai instead. Love never has a good ending, breh, though if you continue to relentlessly fap to anime hentai and "THER SHE IS!: Step Sh*t," you'll never learn this valuable lesson. Hey, atleast by watchin this you gave CHeeChee and your chafed member a break, and I'm happy I ruined 6 minutes of ur perpetual fap. You get a star for calling Alfred 'Alfy' though, that's cute. Okee I'm done.

Excellent.

Fantastic voice acting all round, and a brilliant selection of music. JLB's Song of healing fit right into this flash, with it being ever so slightly different from the original track, it really added that something extra.

The animation was pretty solid, a job well done. While not being the most active of animations, in contrast to the likes of Bitey, or Tarboy (but then, what is?), this had more than enough detail in the animation and backgrounds to lift it well above Newground's standard.

I love the style in which the Deku Father is illustrated (mainly his moustache!), and how the many Keatons were messing about in the beginning. You didn't NEED to have all those Keatons being so animated, but you chose to, and as such, it really improved the flash visually. It also helped to create a certain atmosphere in the forest, like the Keatons were at peace there, and that atmosphere affects you, as the viewer. It really does bring you into the world. So great job there!

I said the voice acting was fantastic all round, and I meant it. A really diverse casting, which enriched the world. Even if there weren't a great deal amount of characters, with them all being so different, you feel satisfied hearing the dialogue. Each line was delivered with energy by the respective voice actors/actresses... that's makes SUCH a difference on the quality of the flash it's unreal. It just SEEMS more professional. Great job to you all, it all sounded VERY believable.

The plot is amazing. I mean, it's so new and different. So yeah, maybe flashes about the Zelda universe aren't, in regards to parodies and the like, but a story like this is a welcome change! It's a very interesting choice using secondary characters as lead roles, a choice I think has really worked for you and has personally, really intrigued me. I really look forward to the progression of the story, if indeed you make more!

Again, a really good piece of work. Great even. All the little details and bits of effort really come together to make a fantastic piece of work. Everyone has done each other proud in this.

I really look forward to more of your work.

Eastbeast responds:

Wow thank you for your words. The whole cast really appreciates them : > In no way do I compare myself to those great animators, but I'd like to think I am improving. Thanks for your insight on this project to make it feel fuller and a well rounded flash, your suggestions were super helpful!

I'll be sure to let you know what I am working on next

You're alive! Thank Odin!

Neat little flash, obviously superb animation coming from you. Sound effects were really neat, and brutal. Proper sounded bad when Santa stacked it and then smashed through the windows.

Funny voice acting, what little there was.

Actually pretty dark side, don't know what I thought about the ending, with the fire outside the door, haha! Brutal.

Again, great to see you're alive.

chluaid responds:

haha thanks man. Yeah My original idea was to have thick smoke pouring in from under the door, but yeah, that's a bit -too- dark :P

Hah!

Excellent, a really good short. Awesome animation and voice acting, as ever.

I remember reading one of your comics with rage melon in, I think?

Awesome to see him in a flash!

Sexual-Lobster responds:

thanks.

yeh, ragemelon has been in a few.

Awesome.

Fantastic animation, and the voice acting was chilled out and believable.

Plot was hilarious, really.

The only complaint I got is the file size. I mean, it loaded quick enough, we're all on super fast connections these days right? But it's 147mb dude, that's nuts. I guess the animation was really size intensive.

I got mixed feelings about that, but I guess it's a moot point really. I watched it, and loved it. So who cares?

I feel lesser known artists might not get such treatment.

THERE I SAID IT.

"Hit me, beat the crap out of me, step on my cubes!"

Jae responds:

Hahaa yeah the file size isn't something I generally think about! We'll see if that ever improves ahah! Thanks for the review!

Excellent.

I was watching this, got about half way through, and realised that I never did finish watching the anime. So I stopped watching, then went to watch the 1986 anime film they made, then came back and watched this fully.

To be honest, the voice acting in this flash was on par, if not better than that of the actual film! Haha, really, some of the lines in the film are delivered so flat it's unreal. None the less, it was still awesome, just like this flash!

Ken waltzing along, with his top half plouging through the building was great. I like it how you even included the arrow/bolt that the guy shoots at him later, that was brilliant.

I don't know if it was intentional, but this flash had the same furious, unrelenting plot progression the film did. You're yanked about without having a moment to dwell on what has happened. Crazy! But I guess that's what happens when you try and squeeze a series down to a movie! Look at Akira! Messed up!!

Dialogue was amazing and the voice acting supreme. Would have liked to hear SirUndead's attempt at the famous "aaaaaaaaaaaaaa atatatatatatatatatatata!". Haha, that would be awesome!

The animation was actually REALLY good, especially when Ken's walking throwing out punches left and right, that bit was immense.

Top quality flash, on all fronts. Raising the bar for parodies/tributes.

Really, REALLY, look forward to more of your stuff.

MangaFood responds:

thanks, sirundead did attempt it, it was actually pretty funny but I thought it was like too cliched so i didn't put it in.

Amazing.

I really liked this.

The music fit perfectly with the animation.

I've no real complaints about the plot or anything like that, though the ending was slightly ambiguous.

Though... There was something that bugged me. And it's quite a big thing... At times in this animation, you had pieces of excellent... and I mean, EXCELLENT, animation. The purple floor grid being shattered, the platform with robot guy lying on it revolving, zooming through forest to the broken robot ect... Those bits were amazing, like REALLY good. But then you've got bits of the flash were the drawings are very basic and some movements looked very stiff. I don't understand why the standard differs so much throughout.

Then I read the Author's comments, haha! So this is like a project spanning three years in which your skill increased? I see, that makes a lot of sense and I kinda feel like a douchebag having said what I said! Haha. Though I guess I still feel the same, the contrasting quality really throws me off. Still, it was brilliant to see how much you've improved. I only wish the entire flash was done to your full potential!

Either way, great flash. Look forward to more of your work xox

Fate responds:

Well, at the moment, I'm trying to smash out a game for the stencyl competition, but once that's done, I will be revisiting all the 'stiffer' shots, and updating them.
I just haven't had time to do that yet, but I know they are a problem, and they will be dealt with.
Thanks for paying enough attention to notice.

Brilliant.

Animation was incredibly smooth and very shiny lookin'.

I don't need to go into voice acting cause you always nail that.

I loved Gooseman's attitude, so blasé! "Their service was pret-ty shit", laughed out loud at that.

Shed a manly tear when Fernando showed up, he's such a champ.

Would definitely love to see this series continue/conlude, thank you for putting in the effort xXx

Sexual-Lobster responds:

thanks!

Woah, that was amazing.

I loved how cute the cat was.

I didn't really see this as a message or anything like that and I've refrained from reading the Author's comments so I can have an opinion of how I felt towards this flash without being told what it all meant, if anything.

Well not much really! Haha, a cat fishing to survive which I thought was pretty cool.

The animation was supreme, now I'm talking like Bitey level, perhaps even more dynamic! Your use of the camera was amazing and personally don't agree with other user's views that it 'moved/shooked too much' but that's just, like, my opinion man.

Music was very fitting and nice to listen to.

I was a little sad that the cat seemed to almost accept that he'd never outrun the water or something. That's the feeling I got when he turned to look at the huge incoming wave.

After reading the Author's comments you've not written about any underlying themes so I guess it's up to the viewer to make of it what they will. That's fine with me.

The animation pretty much forced me to five star this, but that's not to take away from the other aspects of the flash. It was great overall.

Look forward to more of your work, definitely favourited.

gzilbalodis responds:

Yeah, I don't see the point of explaining any themes of the story and even if I tried, it's impossible to describe in a few sentances without sounding sentimental.

I reckon Ken is the best street fighter character because he is so versatile. Opponent keeps guarding? Just use his throw. That's just one of his many moves that can help you win titles.
